‘All roads in our day lead to Moscow’

“To travel from the capitalist world into Soviet territory is to pass from death to birth.”

British Communist John Strachey 1933

It’s important to note, the ideas and conduct of a few individuals do not reflect an entire nation’s core being. However, an entire nation can prosper or go down in flames because of the few- only with willingly approval of th citizens. The individuals who subscribe to leftist ideology within the West did not play a leading role in setting up the actual crimes in the East. However, they organized the propaganda with great skill while turning a blind eye to the crimes against mankind.

The recovery of the American Great Depression isn’t a simple one to discuss. However, as Americans, we are reminded of the similar toxic odor that once blew in the Western Hemisphere air in the 1930s.

The Democrat Party (as of the year 2016 to current) is promoting yet again another enemy: Russia.

If you dare question why- you must be a Russian spy. President Trump and his voters have been called many names for questioning this recent adversary. The most popular and insulting: Putin’s Puppet. This bullying from the leftist scheme of warfare is counterproductive. It will not unite the patriots to support war for unknown clear reasons.

Especially, when it seems like just yesterday the leftist of the West were cozy up in Moscow.

Around 1932, Republicans lost the heavy influence in society they once enjoyed since Abraham Lincoln. Everything they had slowly built was seized by their enemies: support from the media, approval of academia, and the economy.

Americans elected FDR in new spirits: abandon the virtues of capitalism and embrace collectivism.

The great heroes of the 1920s were businessmen. But as many Americans suffered during the decade of unemployment, blames shifted to those who appeared to benefit from poverty. What gave the icing on the cake was when news came out, that men such as J.P. Morgan of Chase Bank, paid no income tax for the three previous years.

The loss of trust in the classy, handsome businessman set in motion with the sudden discovery of the Soviet Union existed. Could this new form of government be the alternative to the American’s agony?

The American press pounced.

A new question began to buzz in town: “Why should the Russians have all the fun of remaking the world?”

It may appear like an innocent inquiry made by Stuart Chase in his book A New Deal, but it contained sinister motives behind it.

The writers of the time (much like today) uphold a system that is not in sync with the American culture. During the 1930s, many left wing books were celebrating Soviet-style planning and using it as a model for the new American dream.

Here are a few books:

  • The Soviet Worker by Joseph Freeman
  • Dawn in Russia by Waldo Frank
  • Towards Soviet America by William Z. Foster
  • A New Economic Order by Kirby Page
  • Russia Today: What Can We Learn From It? By Sherwood Eddy

If Americans weren’t listening to the writers, surely they will hear the Soviet trading agency, Amtorg. Which advertised for 6,000 skilled workers needed in Moscow. 100,000 Americans applied.

“Those rascals in Russia, ” Said comedian Will Rogers. “Along with their cuckoo stuff have got some mighty good ideas. Just think of everybody in a country going to work.”

The gruesome reality of these remarks will be revealed within a few short years. Until then, the leftist in the West were working hard on influencing the masses to voluntarily surrender their freedom they have while the East were executing those policies perfectly in upfront cold blood.

After the crimes of Germany have been bare, Americans came out of the love spell of socialism. It is interestingly to take notice on the suppression of information and ignorance til this day, of the horrors endured within the Soviet Union- much worst than the NAZI take over.

This is no accident.

One major reason for the selective anger towards NAZIs crimes than the Soviet Union’s crimes was this simple fact: the American Democrat Left Wing had a romance with the Soviet Union as shown earlier. It also came down to this (unfortunate) but reality: Germany was invading lands and murdering foreigners. The Soviet Union was murdering its own people.

Both are a terrible form of power that both countries today are still recovering from. Germany with guilt and Russia with its economy, land, and population.

The flirtation of socialism that has recently resurfaced in the American mainstream media, elected politicians, entertainment and academia is a dangerous one.

This time around, the socialist have no current model of a socialist country to turn to, we all must learn from history or be doomed to repeat it.

“One of the most important reasons for studying history is that virtually every stupid idea that is in vogue today has been tried before and proved disastrous before time and again.”

Thomas Sowell
